I waited to put in my review because I wanted to really putsomething in my review that was different from others. The parents in this book sounds like my parents, Kisha reminds me of my niece, and Lala reminds me of my sister, so the book touched home. Tre was a family man with a problem. He really needed sex theraphy, he was addicted until Tamika cured him from that. lolThe storyline was great and like real life,Karama is a mother. The drama kept coming but really Kisha was not the woman that Tre thought she was but on the other Lala was strong woman and more into her daughters. I also feel that Tre should have followed his first instinct about going to the party. Kisha, Skeet, Casper, and Tamika planned this dude's departure. I don't want to tell the storyline so get the books and read them. It's worth the money and time only if you believe in Strong black women, and a side chic that had more class then the main one. Ok,I'll leave it at that. Great job and give us Side Chic with revenge.

La La and Tre .. What can i sayy a mess lol.. Side chic is the right name for this book it.. lets you know how what women goes through when she settles being a side chic and the drama that will always comes along with it.. When i say drama big time.. at times i want to slap La La for being Dumb cause I knew she could do better. Tre is a man that whats he cake and eat it with extra toppings.. he had more drama than just with Lala its girlfriend and some other chic never dull moment..with these characters u laugh scream yell just for them to get it together or open your eyes .than than Miss west gonna leave me hanging I want to know what is going on to happen i finished it in couple of hours probably would have finished it sooner if my kindle did not die. good job I want #2 please....
While reading Side Chi I felt like I was reading a drama filled Soap Opera.
LaLa made her bed and now she must Lay in it. No one told her to sleep with another woman man.
Tra may be able to sweet talk LaLa and Kisha, but there is one that is called Karma and she will bite him in butt if he don't play his cards right!
Side Chic is a read that is full of drama. My favorite part is when Kisha was reading that book and telling her man all about it, but didn't know she was reading her own life story! I can't wait to see how this plays out. I want to see if LaLa will continue to play her role or turn into a woman scorned. I want to see if Tra and Kisha will forever be in love or will Kisha walk away...And I need to know what that dirty slut is up to. I hope Kisha beat her butt something good.
Live by this" Don't be a sidechick with main chick expectations"!!! I love the book from Ms. West. It actually relates to what I went through like three years ago and after that expereince I vowed to never do it again. However in my case no baby was involved. I loved how Lala just decided to walk away from it all instead of sticking around and draining her heart even more. Its better to leave while you not that all in. Also in my opinion the book could have been a little longer (have to look for a part 2). I appreciate how Lala near the end developed a sense of independence after everyone told her to step up! She was too concerned with everyone else feelings except hers and that bothered me. Tamika is just disgusting and Keshia, is the real victim in this book. Keep up the great work Ms.West!!
I enjoyed this book. I tried to feel sorry for Lala but I really couldn't, the "main girl" in me wouldn't allow me to feel sorry for the "side chic".lol..But for real, it was very relateable in the sense that dudes really make their side chics believe that their home life is soo unhappy that they need them and then have the side chic thinking she can eventually change him and make him a one woman man for her. Shame on them..lol Without giving to much of the story away I kind of respected what Lala tried to do in the beginning of the story but if she would have never gone there in the first place she wouldn't be wiping tears for something/someone who was never hers to begin with. Cant wait for the second part to see how Tre is gonna worm his way out of the situation he has found himself in.
I really enjoyed Side Chick. I didn't think I was when I first started reading it. Lala was so stupid for putting herself in this type of situation that I couldn't be mad at Trey. On the other hand, if he truely loved the life he had at home, he wouldn't have had to have Lala as his side chick. At first I was mad she moved to a new city so she didn't break up his family but her leaving worked to her advantage (starting her career as an author) but basically the damage was already done when she found out she was pregnant and decided to keep the babies. If I was Lala, i wouldn't want to be with him. If he cheated on Kisha, then she should know he would cheat on her. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I want to see what Trey does to try to keep his family together. And I want to know what he does about Tamika stank behind trying to blackmail him.
Lala- was torn between her heart & her morals... She's a smart chic but she dumbed herself down to try to keep peace in the household of a MAN whose respect she'd never have..... Instead of staying to face her issues.. She ran, but when she comes back she has a bit more strength to handle her business...
Tre- was a typical cheater... 1. I'm going to have you & my family 2. He don't want to embrace his feelings for LALA 3. He's trying to keep his home with Kisha & the kids happy. 4. When Ish hit the fan, he wants to blame the JUMPOFF. Instead of owning his ISH..... TYPICAL
The book could have a few more side chic situations to add a bit of zest/drama to the story....
I'm giving it 4stars because the author took pride in her work... She gave details, editing was on point and she gave a s/o to another author in her book... I will be purchasing SC2 and I will checkout other books by this author !
